Delegates were transported to Paris on Eurostar to stay
in the luxurious Prince de Galle Hotel taking advantage
of the extensive conference facilities including 12 seminar
rooms and a main conference hall.
A Louis XVI themed dinner at the Maison des Polytechniciens
was the highlight of the weekend with guests dressing in
themed costumes and enjoying a splendid banquet. For a dash
of 18th century authenticity, a group of musketeers in full
costume played minuets as everyone arrived and a harpist
serenaded them through dinner.
The next day was very much about modern-day Paris with
a fun-filled treasure hunt, lunch and prize giving. The
evening incorporated a trip along the Seine in a Bateau
Mouche, where the party continued with champagne, drinks
and a 70s / 80s disco. Finally the weary delegates climbed
back onto Eurostar for a snooze on the train back to Waterloo.
