Full Description

Reputed to be the model for Jane Austen's ‘Mansfield Park’, Cottesbrooke Hall is a near-perfect example of Queen Anne architecture located in a stunning parkland setting. Situated just ten miles north of Northampton, the chief distinction of the house is the superb collection of sporting pictures evident throughout and known as The Woolavington Collection. The collection includes paintings by Stubbs, Ben Marshall, Sir Alfred Munnings and is the finest collection of sporting art in Europe and only surpassed by the Mellon collection in the United States.

Cottesbrooke is widely acknowledged to be one of the best shoots in the Midlands and is still run very much as a family shoot. The estate comprises some 4000 acres of rolling countryside and shoots only 20 days in the season, of which a very few are offered to corporate buyers. Bags are in the region of 250 – 300 birds, although there are a couple of days for bags up to 400.
