an African evening
the challenge
In honour of their Patron; a renowned primatologist, our client contracted us to organise acelebratory dinner for the world's press following their press conference.
our solution
The patron is famed for her work with Chimpanzees in Africa so we created an African themedmarquee in the garden of the family home.
A traditional bamboo tent set the tone and was enhanced by including a jungle area completewith real running waterfall and African masks and drums. Each table had its own style withindividual table cloths and table centres. As much equipment as possible had to be ethicallyand authentically sourced in line with the clients philosophy. So no animal skins!
With an international guests list, we decided to stick to a more traditionally English menu! Touchof Taste out did themselves with a 3 course meal of smoked salmon on a belini followed byGuinea Fowl with creamed potatoes, sautéed leeks, petit pois and green beans and to top it alloff, a huge glass of Eton Mess!
During dessert, the Black Eagles, from Tanzania performed a spectacular acrobatics and limboshow.
The client used the marquee a few days later for an 18thBirthday party. This proved to not bequite such a sophisticated evening and the party was still going when we arrived for derig at8.30am the following morning!
