full description
The Museum of Garden History is housed in the former church of St.Mary-at-Lambeth, which dates back to 1062 and is mentioned in the Domesday Book as being owned by Countess Goda, sister of Edward the Confessor. The building, which still sports stained glass windows, has been redesigned over the centuries. Some of the original medieval structure still exists, while the interior features many Victorian embellishments. Outside the museum's garden provides a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the capital, making this both an interesting and peaceful venue for that special summer event.comments
