full description
Grass lawns and York stone paving surround a central oval in the V&A's large courtyard garden. In the summer glass planters containing lemon trees are stylishly placed around the garden while the building's walls are adorned with intense blue hydrangeas and dahlias of orange flowers and dark purple foliage. The stunning design allows the garden to be used both as a simple courtyard and as a stage set for display, theatre, parties and events. At night the garden is dramatically transformed with lighting specially created by Patrick Woodroffe, lighting designer for the Rolling Stones.comments
