During spring 2011 a repeating valued charity client of ours – Helen & Douglas House – who wanted to stage a fundraising event, however they wanted to add a twist to it. The charitable event had two objectives behind it, the first of course to raise a sufficient amount of money for the charity and the second objective was to create an event which had enough fun content to act as a thank you to the donors.
With this in mind, Ultimate Experience came back with a concept – this was to stage a taxi treasure hunt for the day, with the finish line being a seated dinner and charity auction. In order to make this event work, it was crucial to utilise three Concerto Group venues at that time, which helped keep the costs to a minimum. The event begun at Salter’s Hall for lunch and a briefing, before the attendees headed out on to the course.
The finishing line of the course was held at Wax Chandlers Hall, where clue packs were both collected and marked. After handing in their evidence, guests headed 100m down the road to Plaisterers’ Hall, to be amazed with a fantastic seated dinner provided by of course catering company, Create. Once dinner had been served and finished, guests then enjoyed the auction.
The bespoke four hour hunt took in many landmarks in and around the City; although it was a challenge it was fantastically received and approached with enthusiasm by everybody. Overall, Helen & Douglas House managed to raise over £150,000 on the day alone and the participants went home with smiles on their faces!
