Les Misérables at the Roundhouse

The films cast enjoyed a night of celebrations at the Roundhouse

The timeless classic Les Misérables didn’t finish once the curtains had been closed, the celebrations continued to the after party which was held at Camden’s famous Roundhouse – a venue which has seen and hosted for some of the world’s most iconic musicians over the years. The theme for the evening was of course based around Les Misérables, with the dramatic main space taking a French theme for the evening, with authentic props from the film being displayed, creating extraordinary focal points.

Whilst guests enjoyed the fabulous venue and décor, they were soon to be even more amazed by the food they would be provided by the wonderful catering company, Create. There were ten food stalls which allowed guests to indulge and enjoy a huge range of cuisines and flavours, whilst canapes and bowl food were also available in case guests wanted a light bite. The canapes which were handed out during the event consisted of chicken and pousse ballotine wrapped in bayonne ham with a truffle cream sauce, a warm fig and Roquefort tart drizzled with a winter truffle honey and thyme, and beef tartar on brioche toast with quail’s egg gribiche.

Guests were also given the chance to enjoy hot bowl food, which comprised a mouth-watering menu of confit duck cassoulet with braised beans, sausage and crispy goose fat bread croutons, wild mushrooms and morels in cognac cream sauce with pomme mousseline and wilted pousse, and trout Niçoise with brioche crumbs.

The fun theming of the evening was also incorporated into the food stations available during the evening. These stations provided a huge range of culinary experiences, with French classics such as coq au vin, boeuf bourguignon, ratatouille and Toulouse sausage with lyonnaise potatoes all on offer. There was even a fromagerie station which displayed some of the finest French cheeses; comte, brie de meaux and Roquefort being just a few which made an appearance. Of course there was also a charcuterie station, which is important within any French marketplace and an indulgent dessert station which provided the perfect sweet treats to finish off a magnificent French feast.

There were also crêpes, crème pâtissière, Christmas compotes, tarte au citron with rosemary crème fraîche, mini mont blanc meringue kisses and macaroons to choose from Create satisfied the most discerning of sweet tooths!
